Matt Hurray's 2012 Debut Solo CD "Egyptian Surfer" takes listeners on a musical adventure with upbeat grinding surf guitar tunes as well as a few mellow acoustic and electric numbers to create a body of work that is a joy to listen to over and over again.

MATT HURRAY, founding member and bassist for the ever popular super group JUST PLAIN BIG has released his first ever solo project of instrumental surf tunes. After years of on again / off again ventures with Just Plain Big, which included two national tours, three full length albums, music videos and numerous shows with bands such as THE HOODOO GURUS, THE ENGLISH BEAT and THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS to name a few, the group slowed to a stand still and the members moved on in various musical directions.

This new album "Egyptian Surfer" was written, performed, and recorded over the spring and summer of 2011 by Matt Hurray who plays Guitar, Bass, various percussion instruments and Vocals. Southern California music legends Jim Rice (Additional Guitars, Bass, and Harmonies), Gary Ferguson (Drums), Danny Timms and Eric Vinje (Keyboards) also perform on the album.
